Good Day Respite offers respite to caregivers of loved ones suffering from mild to moderate memory impairment. Lake Sunapee Visiting Nurse Association professional staff and dedicated volunteers provide social interaction, hands on projects and special activities personalized to the needs of the participants who attend. VNA staff and volunteers have the opportunity and privilege to learn about the lives of the participants and engage them in meaningful conversation. It is a safe and secure environment reassuring caregivers as they enjoy time off and recharge themselves mentally, emotionally and physically.
The program began in 1994 as a collaborative community effort hosted by Kearsarge Community Presbyterian Church. In December 2008 Lake Sunapee Region VNA and Hospice was approved for licensure by the State of NH to receive full administration of the program.
Good Day Respite is offered at Kearsarge Community Presbyterian Church every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 3pm except on holidays. Contact Lake Sunapee Region VNA and Hospice at 603-526-4077 for more information. An application and interview is required to evaluate eligibility.
