2021 could not have arrived soon enough! We are each ready for the pandemic to end and news regarding the COVID-19 vaccinations provides hopeful anticipation. However, until we reach what is called "herd immunity," we must continue to do our part, as individuals and collectively as a community of faith, to keep the pandemic contained.
The continued increase in the infection rate, hospitalizations and deaths remains problematic. For these reasons, we still cannot guarantee the safety and wellbeing of individuals if we were to host in-person worship or hold other activities at the church. We will continue to keep the building closed and do our part for the health and safety of our congregation and the greater community to stem the spread of COVID-19. In January, a small team began meeting virtually to plan for the eventual re-opening of KCPC. While an initial plan was drawn up this fall, it was not implemented due to the increase in infection rate. The original plan, along with the latest information and factors, will shape a revised KCPC reopening plan. When finalized it must be safe and consider the limitations of our building and congregation. When will we reopen? We do not know. We need to watch and monitor the success and effectiveness of the vaccines and clearly see a significant reduction in the infection rate and the incidence of new cases. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support. Your KCPC Elders |

Hazel Nilson was born in Chicago on August 21, 1908. She attends Sunday worship at KCPC with her son and daughter in law each week. She is an inspiration to all and is also the world's oldest Cubs fan. We celebrated her birthday on Sunday, August 19th at the 10:00 am service. She's in the parade to the right!
